We are pleased to announce that former NAMI North Carolina staffperson and dedicated volunteer Pooja Mehta has been elected to the NAMI National Board of Directors.

Pooja is a passionate South Asian Mental Health and suicide prevention advocate whose work has been featured on NPR, ABC, TEDx, and other outlets. Even after her tenure on Millbrook Road as Development and Events Manager, she has continued to do public policy research for NAMI North Carolina in Medicaid Expansion, legislative strategies, and other priorities.

With a Masters in Public Health from Columbia University, Pooja is a current WCPI Legislative Fellow in the office of U.S. Representative Doris Matsui of California.
