NAMI North Carolina is proud to announce six new In Our Own Voice (IOOV) Program Leaders! In early December six volunteers with lived mental illness experience graduated from NAMI’s IOOV Program Leader (presenter) training. In the near future, these volunteers will be sharing their stories of hope and recovery to others affected by mental illness across the state.

A big THANK YOU to these volunteers, their local affiliate sponsors, as well as trainer Mary Ann Widenhouse and Director of Programs Peg Morrison. And let’s not forget our donors and their gifts that enable NAMI NC to provide these trainings and programs free of charge–THANK YOU!

Are you interested in becoming an IOOV Program Leader (presenter)?

“Presenting this program is the single most effective thing I am doing to maintain my mental health. Time after time, I see the audience respond with curiosity and interest. I know I am changing the face of mental illness and that I have transformed my pain into the power to make a difference.” -IOOV Program Leader
