Every year NAMI North Carolina recognizes individuals or organizations who have demonstrated extra efforts for the mental health community. The awards for which we are seeking nominations include:

The OUTSTANDING AFFILIATE AWARD is awarded to an affiliate exhibiting outstanding work for the mental health community.

The STEVE JORDAN AWARD is given to an individual who has been an effective innovator and advocate for services or supports for people living with mental illness and their families.

The JOHN BAGGETT AWARD recognizes the local community efforts of a non-member on behalf of people living with mental illness and their families.

THE ELAINE AND DAVID PURPEL FAMILY RESPITE AWARD is given to a family to thank them for their service and to provide a time of self-care and rest.

The MIKE MAYER ADVOCATE OF THE YEAR AWARD is awarded to an individual who has had a significant impact on the lives of people living with mental illness and their families in a local community.

The LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD, when given, is awarded to a long-time NAMI NC member who has had a profound statewide impact on the lives of people living with mental illness and their families.

Nominations will be reviewed and awards selected by the awards committee. Nominations must be received no later than September 16, 2022.
