The Walk and fun activities will take place THIS Saturday at Flowers Field and Dawkins Drive in beautiful Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh. Watch for the NAMI Signs.
NAMIWalks is a canine and children friendly event!
Here is the schedule:
9 to 10 am – registration and participant check in
10 to 10:30 am – welcoming program, acknowledge volunteers and donors, discuss walk logistics
10:30 am to 1:00 pm – teams and individuals can walk. There will also be ongoing activities for people who only walk a short distance or who do not want to walk at all.
1:00 pm – the roads will be opened, which means the walk route is closed to walkers. It may close earlier than 1:00 pm if the last visible walker is finished on the route.
One loop of the walk is 1.2 miles; three loops is 3.6 miles or about 5K. We did not have the route certified as a 5K.
Walkers may walk as much or as little as their motivation and endurance allows. So, some people may not walk at all, others may walk a partial loop, still others may walk as long as they can, up to 1:00 pm. You may start and end whenever you want.
