With National Rural Health Day occurring on Thursday, it’s a great time to review this informative session that National Rural Health Association CEO, Alan Morgan, presented during NAMI NC’s Annual Conference in October.

According to Carolina Demography, among the 10 most populous states, North Carolina has the largest proportion of individuals living in rural areas. In fact, North Carolina’s rural population is larger than that of any other state except for Texas.

As Mr. Morgan discusses, for a variety of reasons the behavioral healthcare needs are not being met in many rural communities across North Carolina. NAMI NC is committed to improving mental health in rural communities as well as urban areas. We hope you’ll view this presentation and reach out to us at marcom@naminc.org about where we can go from here.
