FREE Basics and Family to Family classes coming soon!

NAMI Basics is a peer led 6 class program designated for parents and other primary caregivers of children and adolescents with emotional issues, behavioral difficulties, or symptoms of mental illness (brain disorder).

The NAMI Basics Program helps primary caregivers understand several brain disorders that may cause behavioral and /or emotional difficulties, and critical role families play in the treatment of those illnesses. In addition to learning the facts about these conditions, participants learn tips for responding to stressful and emotionally intense situations, problem solving strategies and communication skills. Furthermore, participants benefit from learning from others in similar situations and experience a community of support.  This free program is sponsored by the National Alliance on Mental Illness as part of a nationwide mission to improve the lives of all people affected by mental health conditions.
