FREE RECOVERY CLASS FOR ADULTS EXPERIENCING MENTAL ILLNESS

This class will be begin Thursday, March 19th, 5:30 to 7:30 in Chapel Hill over the course of 8 weeks. Using lecture, discussion, and interactive exercises participants will gain knowledge, insight, and strategies for living with their illness. Sponsored by NAMI Orange County. FREE ON-LINE CLASS FOR FAMILIES OF VETERANS/MILITARY-

NAMI Homefront is a free, 6-session program for family, friends and significant others of military Service Members and Veterans. The class helps families understand what the Service Member/ Veteran is experiencing related to trauma, combat stress, civilian life transition, PTSD and other mental health conditions. Community Inclusion Training!

Studies have shown that many people living with mental illness need support to feel included in the community. Lack of inclusion contributes to feelings of isolation and hampers recovery. NAMI NC’s Community Inclusion program (CI) focuses on how individuals with mental illness can find natural supports and activities with others in their community. NAMI NC is offering free training on how to start a program in your community. The next 2-day training class begins in late March. Click here for more information.

Special Free Class for Caregivers of Children/Teens to be held in Wake Forest!

NAMI Basics is free 6-session program designed for parents or caregivers of children and teens experiencing symptoms of mental illness or challenging emotional or behavioral difficulties. Learn about diagnosis, treatment, medications, effect on family, coping, stress, and more.

WAKE FOREST: The Wake Forest class will begin on March 7th and the classes will be held from 9:00a-11:30a. The class is offered by NAMI Wake County. Register here or email education@nami-wake.org for questions.

FREE FAMILY-TO-FAMILY CLASSES BEING HELD IN WILMINGTON

NAMI Family-to-Family is a free, 8-session educational program for family, significant others and friends of people living with mental illness. It is a designated evidenced-based program. Research shows that the program significantly improves the coping and problem-solving abilities of the people closest to an individual living with a mental health condition. Pre-registration is required.
