Thursdays with NAMI: Let’s talk about athletes’ mental health

How do athletes approach mental health, and how can the rest of us learn from their techniques? Join us to learn from an expert in the field; hosted by NAMI NC Executive Director Garry Crites.

Anita Daniels is contracted to work with student athletes at North Carolina Central University, a NCAA Division I school. With over 30 years of experience, she has served as a field instructor for college students pursuing bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work, psychology, criminal justice, counseling, and human services since 1985.

Anita is President and CEO of Actualities Limited, a clinical practice offering behavioral health/wellness, sports counseling/consulting, and addiction treatment. Additionally, she is a founding member of the Alliance of Social Workers in Sports.

She earned a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a bachelor’s of Social Work from East Carolina University, and a graduate certificate in Sports Counseling from California University of Pennsylvania.
