He went from wandering the streets to a group home to living independently

7:00 p.m. August 11, 2022

As a young man Larry Wanucha wandered the streets of New York City, thinking he might be Jesus Christ. After that he lived with his parents, and then an adult care home. Today the Ohio resident holds a master’s degree, owns his own home, and works with others who struggle as he once did.

“I have been on a long-term journey of recovery since 1979 when I left NYC to rejoin my family of origin after a tumultuous year to launch into adulthood,” he says today. “Recovery was not used to describe a life after a diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia at that time, just that I would be on medication for the rest of my life. I lived in a group home for a year early on after an unsuccessful attempt at independent living.”

Join us to learn from a man who is very transparent about his journey to independent living. This event is free and open to the public. Find us on Facebook Live (https://fb.me/e/2ziPoNoIL) or register to participate on Zoom:
