A study by researchers at Washington State University reveals that proportionally fewer rural public schools have access to mental health resources than their urban counterparts. The study revealed that rural schools were significantly less likely to provide assessments for students’ mental health disorders, potentially caused by lack of funding and access to qualified mental health professionals.
