One of our active NAMI members, Jian (Lily) Chen, is active in other ways in the community, as well. Lily is a faculty member at the North Carolina Central University Department of Nursing with expertise in community health and a member on the Wake County Health & Human Services Board. Lily is also a Clinical Scholar supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (2020-2023) on a project aimed at increasing mental health awareness and decreasing stigma in Asian immigrant families.
Lily, an active member of United Chinese Americans, is the Director of the WAVES program for youth mental health. In honor of the 3rd Chinese American Convention and the Inaugural UCA National Youth Convention, President Biden sent his greetings:
