Despite the clouds on Saturday, over 1000 people participated virtually, in-person, and in pop-up walks across the state of North Carolina to show their support for better mental health for all. Individual walkers and members of 123 Walk Teams enjoyed music, refreshments, a community resource fair, two beautiful greenway walk routes, and coming together as a community of mental health advocates, providers, and peers.

Highlights of this year’s Walk include:

  • Inspiring opening remarks from NAMI NC Executive Director Holly Doggett, Town of Morrisville Mayor TJ Cawley, NC DHHS Secretary Kody Kinsley, and NC Secretary of State Elaine Marshall
  • Energizing music from DJ Hindu
  • Free refreshments provided by members of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity
  • Lawn games and interactive activities for children
  • Community resource fair highlighting sponsors, exhibitors, and local NAMI affiliates from across the state

Together, NAMIWalks NC 2024 has so far raised over $122,000 for mental health! We could not have accomplished that without the help of our sponsors, teams, walkers, and volunteers!

***Our Walk website will be live until June 18, 2024. Visit our site to participate virtually, collect donations, grow your team’s donation levels, and qualify for National Recognition Prizes.
