NAMI NC is pleased to announce that beginning this summer, NAMI NC and local affiliates will be providing variety of educational and support activities to individuals who are participating in Transitions to Community Living (TCL) programs as well as their family members and natural supports. TCL provides eligible adults living with serious mental illnesses the opportunity to choose where they live, work and play in North Carolina. These programs will promote TCL participant success by increasing the knowledge and supports required to achieve independent living including:
· Support for employment
· Life skills
· Social connection
NAMI NC’s Mikayla Cardona will be taking the lead on this effort in her new role as Director of Community Inclusion beginning in March, with affiliate programming beginning in Fiscal Year 2023.
