A collection of NAMI NC staff, board members, and peer leaders traveled to Minneapolis last week to attend NAMICon 2023. The conference welcomed hundreds of NAMI staff, board members, program leaders, peers, and healthcare professionals to hear inspiring stories of recovery, innovations in mental health research, and new ideas for affiliate management. Keynote speakers Kenneth Cole, Carmela Wallace and Percy “Master P” Miller shared their connections to mental health and how they are using their celebrity status to bring awareness.
Fayetteville State student and NAMI on Campus leader Jayvein Greene was presented with the NAMI Young Leader award during the conference.
Overall, the week presented amazing opportunities for networking, inspiration, and refreshment. We are already looking forward to NAMICon 2024 in Denver!
