NAMI NC partnered with the Carolina Hurricanes for their fifth annual Hockey Talks game against the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday, March 14. The NHL hosts Hockey Talks games to raise awareness and reduce stigma around mental illness. Our staff were able to have a table on the main concourse, where we engaged fans in conversations about their own experiences with mental health. We were also able to engage players in the fan tunnel and run the pregame siren. Once again this event proved an excellent way to expose the work of NAMI NC to a wider and more diverse audience.
