Over 30 leaders from around the state joined members from the NAMI Council of Affiliate Presidents (CAP), NAMI NC staff, and guest speakers on Saturday for an informative retreat to discuss various topics to fulfill our mission of enhancing the lives of North Carolinians affected by mental illness. This year’s theme was “Diversity and Stability in an Era of Growth”. Topics included successfully building upon NAMI’s program efforts to be reflective and responsive to the needs of our diverse populations. Other important mental health matters were addressed as well. One hundred percent of the surveyed attendees rated this event very highly and stated that they would attend this event again next year!

During the event, NAMI’s CAP also formally recognized NAMI NC Staff member Mikayla Cardona for her tireless efforts in supporting NAMI NC affiliates new and old. Congratulations Mikayla!
