NAMI North Carolina has long been an advocate for Medicaid expansion, a federally-authorized proposal that would allow hundreds of thousands of North Carolinians who currently fall through the cracks in insurance coverage for mental and physical health conditions to finally receive coverage.

But for just as long, attempts at Medicaid expansion have consistently stalled in the North Carolina General Assembly, making North Carolina one of only 12 states that has not approved it.

But this year, there has been some movement. Is this the legislative year that it will become a reality in our state?
