Thursdays with NAMI – December 9, 2021 – 7pm

Some people get a natural high from the winter holidays. Whether it’s faith, family, or food – there’s a lot to enjoy. Others find December to be a challenge because of increased expectations, financial and otherwise.

For those of us with mental health conditions, the added pressure can be very tough. It’s easy to feel excluded during a commercial holiday when everyone is showing off their beautiful families and gifts. Feelings of loneliness may actually be amplified by endless scenes of holiday cheer. Daily routines that promote wellness are disrupted.

Then there’s that tendency to take stock during holidays and evaluate life; depression and anxiety tend to put a harsh flavor on these self-evaluations. How can we cope if holidays aren’t our thing? There are positive solutions, and coming together to explore options is a great first step. Our guide will be the dynamic Jason Phillips, LCSW, licensed therapist and life coach.

Thursdays with NAMI starts at 7pm and is free and open to all. Join us via Facebook Live or click here to register to participate via Zoom and to view the schedule for future sessions
