While a manic episode – highly publicized or otherwise – does not give license to be abusive nor is it an exemption from accountability – some argue that it does provide a possible context for his troubling behavior. This begs the question: where is the line drawn between social media being used as a tool to connect as opposed to a voyeuristic cattle prod that insulates judgment and bias and how might either mitigate or reinforce the current mental health stigma that exists in the Black community?
