Thursdays with NAMI – July 8, 2021-7pm
NAMI South Mountains Board Member John Widener recently won the prestigious Governor’s Medallion Service Award for outstanding volunteer work, including his focus on vets in Burke County. His NAMI group has hosted dinners, offered support groups, and spent plenty of time listening to veterans in their service area, which spans Burke, Cleveland, Gaston, Lincoln, Polk, and Rutherford counties. John and Vietnam Veteran James Howell will share their stories, along with veteran and NAMI South Mountains President Diane Krisanda.
