In a recent training held in Franklin, NC, 10 individuals were armed with information and tools to implement Community Inclusion (CI) programs in their community. Studies have shown that many people living with mental illness need support to feel included in the community. Lack of inclusion contributes to feelings of isolation and hampers recovery. NAMI NC’s CI program focuses on how individuals with mental illness can find natural supports and activities with others in their community.

NAMI NC is offering another free training in March on how to start a program in your community. This 2-day training class will be held in Raleigh. The training is free and and mini grants are available to provide funding. For more information click here.
