Anyone who has watched a child romp with a beloved dog has sensed how much the animal contributes to the youngster’s well-being. Now there is science to back it up.

In a recent study released in the UK, 8 and 9 year old children were studied during and after 20 minute interactions with trained dogs. By examining the cortisol level of the kids, they were shown to have significantly less stress than other students who did not interact with the dogs.
