Durham native Pearlie Williams has been through it. As a child she was traumatized by extreme abuse. As an adult she distracted herself from the pain with parties and substance use, which led to her being incarcerated. Somewhere along the way her life began to change in positive ways. She found good mental healthcare and a new family that loves her unconditionally. She began sharing her story through NAMI’s In Our Own Voice Presentation Program, and in 2018 she won the NAMI NC Mike Mayer Advocate of the Year Award. Join us to hear this fascinating story of faith and recovery.

Thursdays with NAMI starts at 7pm and is free and open to all, but registration is required. To register and view the schedule for future sessions, please click HERE.
