Thursdays with NAMI – January 13, 2022 – 7pm

Dr. Laklieshia Izzard is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia and New Jersey, but she hails from the Piedmont Triad area of North Carolina. There are enough initials and credentials after her name to fill a page.

She found NAMI – and her calling – because she has loved ones with mental health conditions and substance use challenges. These bonds help foster the passion she brings to her work.

Seven years ago, she started a virtual business providing telemental health services, positioning her to expand and support other clinicians when the COVID era began. It began with her doctoral program in Counselor Education at Argosy University Sarasota, which used a hybrid approach. She graduated with a great foundation for telemental health services and programs. Today she is the developer and Program Leader of NAMI Georgia’s Virtual Counselor Support Group, which is open to counselors anywhere.

Join us to hear her story, along with her views on the state of mental health today, along with the integration of Faith in Mental Health Recovery and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Thursdays with NAMI starts at 7pm and is free and open to all. Join us via Facebook Live or click here to register to participate via Zoom and to view the schedule for future sessions
